You can adjust the bass (lower 40 notes) and treble (upper 40 notes) on the Playback board. The Pianocorder plays 80 notes. The first 4 bass notes and top 4 treble notes are not utilized. If you are not familiar with the electronics of the system, before each adjustment, unplug the power cord to the Pianocorder and wait for one minute for the capacitors to bleed off, before touching anything. There's enough juice in the 170 volt system to knock you on your butt, or worse. Locate the playback board - on it you will see 6 wheeled potentiometers. That's six white plastic knurled wheels about 1/2 inch diameter. Facing the board with the controls of the left edge, the two top controls are the bass and treble controls. Advance the top (bass control) a bit (like 5 degrees at a time) until the bass end is more in balance with the treble. Once the bass/treble balance is corrected, if you still find that the mid section is too loud with respect to the bass and treble, that would have to be corrected in some other fashion - either by adjusting the piano or you could edit your midi files specifically for playback on your piano to compensate for the imbalance.
