Date Posted: 20:17:11 07/09/01 Mon In reply to: Abraham Powell 's message, "Tuning, adjusting, and/or repair to PianoCorder Casette Player" on 17:46:29 07/08/01 Sun The symptom you discribe is a universal failing of the Pianocorder tape deck wherein a plastic tab which holds one end of a torsion spring has broken. The fix is to bend the now unreferenced tab of the torsion spring so that it engages the stamped plate of the transport rather than the missing tab. This requires taking the cover off the deck which exposes the heads and the ailing spring assembly. It takes me about 15 minutes to fix it. If you are handy with simple mechanical things, you will be able to see what I am describing and probably do it yourself. I'll talk you through it on the phone if you need me to. I've litterally fixed a dozen decks with that problem! Happy listening. (My Vorsetzer is playing in the background as I respond to your problem.) Hope this helps.
