Are you sure that it is the 8-track player that is not working and not the boards that control it? Could the boards be making the 8-track inoperable? I have spoken with Bob Baker too about my problem. He couldn't help me. I have the "Ragtime" model Pianocorder and am having trouble with the boards for the 8-track player. The 8-track plays fine. The piano never shut off until we replaced a chip. Now it shuts off after the coin switch is activated 10 times. It should shut off after each selection. See Pete Knobloch posting at the top of this forum. Check your boards, it might not be your 8-track tape player!
