Date Posted: 08:18:07 11/08/04 Mon Making your own Pianocorder tapes is a simple, though tedious, process. Mark Fontana's WinAmp plug-in can convert any MIDI piano sequence to a format suitable for recording on blank cassettes. The tedium results from this fact: the Pianocorder cassette deck runs at twice the speed of an ordinary cassette player. One side of a 90-minute cassette holds 22-1/2 minutes worth of music, but it takes 45 minutes to record it at half speed. After a little experimenting with the recorder's volume controls, you can now have a new tape made with your choice of the thousands of titles available for download on the Internet. A Google search for 'Piano MIDI' will return a huge number of sites for you to choose from. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
