*prepares to sound like the biggest geek of all time*

I play for many reasons some complicated some simple.

A few of the simple ones are things like character buildup and wealth gain unlike any other MMORPG around (other than DAoC from what ive been hearing)and many other small things all intertwined and related.

One of the biggest reasons is Roleplaying. You all know me as Theros Ironfeld. some remember me as a Newbie smith others as a Knight of the Blade when I was in OrB or Commanding General of the Imperial Mercenary Army then as Knight Emperor of The Imperial Mercenary Knights then Paladin General of DoD and now apprentice of the Fianna. Theros has a history. One that not all people know but a large majority do. Ka Null has known me longest of all of you but there are others like Boric of OrB and Kalias Kondor who have known me longer and thats what i love about it. I can have a histry that lots of people remember. People can say "hey your that guy that....." Stuff that IRL is never gonna happen due to the morbid and boring existence i lead.

Through all of it I am Theros Ironfeld, arrogant self centered toatally full of myself Theros Ironfeld, and that is how i play my character. Everything that happens in game that involves me in the slightest degree I roleplay extremely seriously even when i leave a guild as I have recently.

In real life I am Jeffrey Pope, Married Two Children, Computer Technician and Network Administrator. Boring Life Boring Job. I love my family and thats about the only joy i get out of the real world. In Game I can be who i want to be. Theros is my Alter Ego (think The Mask with Jim Carrey) UO is my mask. As much as some people hate me In Game I am always Theros Ironfeld. Not many can say that they have seen me Out of Character in UO even when im not talking in thees and thous. Thats part of it but the next part is bigger.

In my time in UO I have made friends and enemies as you do IRL. But most are friends and those that are I consider not just as a sprite on a screen but as my very best friends. More than that Family. My own little 2 inch tall sprite family. All of you are family to me with only a few exceptions and even though I am not DoD anymore you still are and always will be. The Fianna attracted me because they hold this value in game as almost a law as well as being a Roleplaying guild. But even though I have left DoD i still consider you as my family. If you have a need then you may call on me, if you need someone to talk to then ICQ me. You are all my Brothers and Sisters and will be forever even if the game ends. (Ill buy Oceania shard myself and run it if they ever can the thing)

Anyway I have rambled and this barely makes sense but i think you get the point.

Plus it keeps me out of the pub and costs less money and has less painful after effects than getting drunk.
