Prophet Clarifies Housing Decay Reactivation

Prophet responded to an e-mail discussion group question about “turning on” housing decay at the start of 2002. The question was asked about what happened to the proposed new housing refresh system.

If you remember, the proposed new system would include auto-refresh for active accounts and auto-decay for houses without active primary owners. Let me clarify my statement in the UOHoC a bit.

First off the auto-refreshing of all houses was first initiated after September 11th for obvious reasons. At the time we told you all that we would be turning housing decay back on in the new year. As far as I know our plans have not changed on this but, as with everything else, they are open to change.

Now for the new housing auto-refresh: We are still hopeful that we will move forward with this. At the moment we are still working out many of the details as to how this would work so we don't have anything firm to tell you at this point.

So yes for a while the old housing decay rules will be active until we figure out what we will be doing with the new housing decay rules.

I hope that clarifies things. If it doesn't please let me know and I will endeavor to explain a bit better. When asked for the date when housing decay would go into effect: Its going to be sometime in January.

It will not be on January first or second. More likely the 2nd or 3rd week of January. It does not need to be tied to a publish so don't think nothing will happen if there is no upcoming publish.
