This is a nice example to consider as well. In this case, what each of these two people *ought* to do - that is, what would be morally praiseworthy - is not to drink. If one person resists all night but at the last second takes a drink, then basically he gave in (so failed). So should he get in an accident because he drank, then of course he can be held morally responsible. So the fact that he partially resisted won't amount to a hill of beans in the end if he kills all of his friends in an accident :)
