If the world were Hollywood, I too would have blown sky high by now. EVERY time I get out of a car--mine, or anyone else's--I get this horrible static shock as soon as I touch the door to close it. It's gotten to the point where I've learned to close car doors by pushing on the window.

My neighbor says it's my shoes, that they provide a superior ground or something. I thought rubber was supposed to insulate!
