That scene reminded me of Monty Python and Squee at the same time: one or few persons acting... stupid [I'm tired. Help me find more suitable expressions for this stupid kind of stupid stupidity of the stupid kind], and suddenly attracting the support of the rest of the crowd. For no reason whatsoever.

Did they by any chance try to burn you, drown you or weigh you up against a duck while they were at it?
