Subject: It's getting better

I am on the study for Peg-Intron; 1 shot a week and to start off 400 mgs of ribavirin a day. Then your Peg shot once a week. You have to be a genotype 2 or 3 or it won't work. :(
I've been on the study for 2 or 3 months now, when I came in my viral count was only 135,000 where I was told people come in with a lot higher viral counts.
Well mine is down to zero! It's working! Also it's not so bad. Once you pick your day to do your shot, ask for phenegran, once you do your shot take a couple phenegrans and go to bed. You will wake up feeling okay.

Eyes on the prize [sustained response] and endure no matter how miserable treatment makes you feel because most Genotypes 2 and 3 these days are able to beat this and move on. You have most [perhaps all...] of the predicters of sustained response -- Genotype other than 1, low pre-treatment viral load, early viral clearance on treatment, female sex, liver not cirrhotic yet...

I have been hanging out in cyber hepper land since 98-99 and am aware of three [just three] 2's and 3's in all that time who did not respond to treatment and acheive a sustained response. I have been keeping informal track of responses and relapses since 98-99 because of being a lucky 2b also. Chances are unusually high for you of beating this. There are no guarentees for any of us [there were those unlucky three...] but all predictors to date indicate a unsually high likelihood of sustained response and a happy ending to all of this for you.

Hang in there and endure -- its worth all the misery and side effects to murder 'Cyrus the Virus' and move on with the rest of your life without him.

Refuse to allow the drugs to make you 'feel' depressed in a situation that for you, objectively, is far from depressing.

I will finish this, my bodie already before the treatment started to make it's own anti-bodies for the virus. Which Doc told me. He says your body already was trying to fight it but sometimes it needs a little push. They said not very many people grow the antibodies to virus c, but I was starting to. So I am going to hang in here and let everyone know how it is.
