I have an Omnibook 800ct with 48mb of RAM. I have tried several times to reinstall Win98 but I can't get the PCMCIA slot to be recognized... it's driving me NUTS!!! I can install Win2000 and get PCMCIA slot support but the operating system runs sooooo slooooowwwwwwwwwwww on this machine that I would like to go back to Win98. I've tried this several times and I can't get the darn thing to recognize the PCMCIA slot. I've tried all the BIOS combinations I can think of, but it doesn't get recognized. In fact, in Control Panel, clicking on the PCMCIA icon gets a report that the slots are empty no matter what type of card I have in them. I've tried a cd-rom on a pcmcia card, a pcmcia modem, a pcmcia wireless wifi card, and a plan old compact flash card -- but none are recognized. In Win2000, they are all fine, but in Win98 -- nutt'n.

Any suggestions??
