 the reason your computer doesnt recognize the cdrom is because you dont have the DOS cdrom drivers installed. (The MSCDEX.EXE and CD rom driver) somehow you need to set up your autoexec.bat and config.sys with these drivers. Another thing I found helpful is to just copy the win98 folder in the cd rom into a folder in the HD. that way the CD rom is not needed during install
