Lana smiled and swung gracefully into the jumping saddle. Sunset walked off around the arena at her command. Lana pushed her heels down and shortened her reins. Lana asked her to trot and she moved into a smooth trot. Lana sat deep in the saddle. Then a little while late she asked her for a canter. She cantered toward an X and popped over some little fence for warm up. After popping her over some little X's Lana decided that was a fine warm up and asked the mare to canter in a big circle, turned on her stopwatch and then straight out to a liverpool. She tucked her legs up neatly and leaped over it. Then cantered on toward a 3' 9" Oxer. Then straight on toward a log jump. Then a triple vertical. She bounced over all 3 parts of the triple. Lana guided her through the rest of the course and she finished the 3' 9" course in a good time. Then Sunset went around in some fugure eights at a trot and then Lana pulled her back to a walk. She walked her around some poles and in circles and in some figure eights. Then Lana walked her out and then dis-mounted and led her back up to the barn and untacked her and put her in her stall with a couple of mints and fresh water. Then she went to get Honor. Lana tacked up the beautiful filly and led her to the track. She jumped into the saddle and walked her onto the track. "So, you know what we are going to do today, huh girl," Lana patted her neck as they trotted along. Then Lana asked her for a canter. They flew down the track and then Lana asked her for a gallop. Honor pulled forward and Lana let her have rein. Lana neaded her hands into Honor's mane and the two soared down the track. "Go, girl," Lana cried as the filly found another gear and pulled ahead. Lana pumped her arms in rythym with Honor. As soon as they got to the 6 furlong pole Lana sat back into the saddle and pulled her down to the walk. "Hey, Jas," Lana called, "Can you cool out Honor," "Sure," said the pretty stable hand and went to grab her helmet. Lana gave her a leg up and left the two alone as Jas cooled her out. Lana went back to the barn and got Sparkle. She led her to the cross-ties and groomed and tacked up the mare. When they got to the arena Lana mounted up. She relaxed and sat deep in the saddle as she warmed the mare up. Then she asked her for a trot. Lana posted and a little while later she asked her for a canter. Lana rocked with Sparkle's canter as they cantered around the arena. Lana led her in some circles, around poles, figure eights, and some bending exersizes. Then she took the mare over a 3' 9" course. She started her stopwatch and the mare rocketed off toward the first jump, a liverpool. She flew over it. Then on toward a triple. Sparkle cleared all 3 jumps and then cantered on to the next jump. Lana guided her around the course and they finished the 3' 9" course in record time. Sparkle slowed down on Lana's command and the woman cooled her out and put her away. While she was putting away Sparkle's tack she grabbed Patience's halter and a lunge line. She put on Patience's halter and led her to the arena. She walked the filly around and then let her sniff the lunge line. Patience didn't seem to mind when she connected it to her halter. Lana led her around with close contact and then after a couple minutes showed her the lunge whip. When Lana tapped it softly behing her she walked. When she tapped it on the ground behind her she trotted. They did a little bit of walking and trotting in both directions and then Lana decided to call it quits. She led the filly back to her stall and gave her a treat. Lana put the lunging stuff away and started on lunch.:-)
