i walked into the barn and fetched Memento's saddle. i slipped into his stall and gave him a good groom all over. i then saddled him and lead him outside. i walked him aorund the ring and then broke into a trot. i spent an hour working on basic dressage moves (like serpentines at canters and trots, 10m cirlces, 20 m circles, diagonals and flying changes)i then decided to work him over soome cavelettis to work on his strides for jumping. he was pacing the jumps well. and very rarely did i have to pull him back or speed him up before he took the next jump. after 1 and a half hours i took him out to the trails and gave him a half hour walk, to cool him down and keep him fit. when we returned, i unsaddled him gave him a quick hose down and released him into the paddock.

I then returned inside the barn and took out crystal. i cross tied her in the yard and gave her a good grooming. i then saddled her in her dressage saddle and went to work in the outdoor ring. i warmed her up in all gaits, did a few basic manouvers and then worked on her stepping backwards. she did it when asked and i gave her a nice pat and a little walk aorund the ring in return. i then tried to get her to to take a step or two to the side, from a halt. it took a lot of legwork by me, to get her to, but she managed to take 2 steps to the side crossing her forelegs and then uncrossing them. it was as if she had done it a million times. we worked on the same manouver for another 20mins until we had both had enough. i lead her out of the ring and to the trails. i remounted and let her walk along the trail at her own pace. we reached a clearing that appeared to go for at least 200 metres and so i cantered her along that until we reached the narrow trail again, when we walked. when we returned back to the yard after about an hour on the trail i hosed her down and turned her out. i then headed inside to clean both Crystals and Memento's tack and to muck out their stalls.
