today i lounged Silver and Shining. i worked on Silver's counter canter on the lounge and worked on making all his gaits free and regular. Shining worked on transitions and balance.

Then i rode Trent. he is now 4 years old and trained in first level dressage, almost ready to move on to second level. Today i decided to start him over fences by lounging him over some poles and fences. first i rode him and did some dressage work, then i got off and took out some poles, cones and barrels. i started by leading him over the ground poles, then i lounged him at a walk, trot and canter over them. then i raised the poles to small crossrails, then lounged him at the trot and canter over them. after a few times in each direction, i cooled him out and turned him out.
