I walked down to the the stable. I heard a loud whinny from Courage's stall. I got his tack and a grooming kit and tacked him up. I led him by his reins to the outdoor arena. I mounted up. I was a little bit on edge this was my first timw riding him and I had just bought him 2 days ago. He seemed very sweet. I walked him around to get used to his large strides. Then I trotted him. His trot was so smooth. He knew how to extend and collect his stride, he could do flying lead changes, he could jump, and was very obedient. I patted him on his neck."Good boy Courage," I murmmured.
I steered him toward the first jump, at a canter. He flew over it with feet to spare. I urged him toward the next jump. He soared over that one. The I headed toward the in an' out. He soared over it gracefully. Then the zigzag. The last few jumps were just oxers and the 2nd to last was a triple oxer.
I cooled Courage out,I gave him a bath, and then gave him a good grooming. I put him back in his stall with some hay.
Next I got out Pride. I tacked her up and led her to the ring. I swung onto her back. I warmed Pride up. Then we headed toward the trails. We were going to work on endurance. We trotted and cantered for miles stopping at a little creek to rest and so she could get some water, I was thinking of using her for endurance riding, she wasn't an arabian or a mix but she had alot of stamina. We had probably done at least 30 miles before we stopped and she was in fine condition.
I remounted the filly and we headed toward home. I gave her a long bath and a good grooming. Then I set her out to pasture to graze. I didn't set Courage out because I wanted him to get used the the stable mainly right now.
I walked back up to the house and sat by my phi=one reading a horse book while I waited for someone to call about a horse for sale.
