(yah, Dee-Dee is to old to race, I just mean that that retire your racehorse thing is a blank page.To retire your racehorse, just stop entering it in races & re-train it do to do something else, or use the horse for breeding or something like that.)
I cantered Calypso toward the fence, he gathered himself & leaped over the fence.a 4 foot fence was np problem for Calypso.Jennifer jumped Rebel over the fence to."When I bought Timeless Farm, this old building was still standing on part of the property.It used to be a horse barn, but when I bought Timeless Farm, it was just land & this old building.We built the barns & the house in another area, so we never used this old barn.I was thinking about putting a cross country jump in the inside, so you would have to jump your horse over a fence, then jump the horse down into the barn, canter several strides, then jump up onto the other side & come out of the barn.Neat jump, eh?" Jennifer nodded in agreement."This is actually the first time I've even looked in the barn." Jennifer said "well, lets look inside." I nodded.There were no doors left on the old barn, so Jennifer & I walked our horses inside.The barn was completly empty of everything except for 4 stone walls on each side, the 2 spots were the big barn doors would have been, 2 metal rings attatched to one of the walls, a opening in the ceiling to a lof above, & a ladder.I dismounted from Calypso & walked him over to the metal rings.I pulled on them both.Both were still solidly stuck to the wall.I grabbed 2 lead ropes out of my saddle bag & said to Jennifer, "theres a upper barn, & theres a door in the ceiling that leads to it, so we can tie up the horses to these metal rings & explore up there.This place isn't that old, so the ceiling shouldn't collapse." Jennifer said "ok." we used leadropes to tie our horses to the metal rings, then I grabbed the ladder, & placed it under the opening in the ceiling.The ladder was at the perfect height for us to get up there.I went up first.The upper barn/loft had tons of old stuff in it.There were all sorts of trunks, old pictures, every sort of thing you could imagine."Jennifer, you've got to come up here, its awesome!" Jennifer climbed up the ladder & said "wow." my eyes widened & I nodded.I carefully took a step.Then I lightly jumped.some dust fell from the ceiling downstairs, but that was all."What are U doing?" asked Jennifer.I replied "making sure the floor is stable." She nodded.I jumped again, very hard this time.nothing happened, so I walked over to one of the trunks & opened it.I gasped.There were some old dresses in there that dated back to the early 1900's if I was correct.Jennifer walked over to me & said "those are great looking dresses, but there all moth-eaten, see," she said as she held up a old dress.We opened the rest of the trunks & looked at the pictures, we found lots of photographs, trinkets, more clothing & some other stuff.But nothing really worth keeping.After 15 mintues of looking, I said to Jennifer "I think its probably time to head back tot he stable, don't you think?" Jennifer agreed, so we climbed back down into the barn & untied the horses.Then we led them outside & mounted...
