BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! I groaned, & shut off the alarm clock.I got out of bed & quickly took a shower & put on a pair of breeches & a long-sleeved shirt.Then I walked downstairs & into the kitchen.Arianna & Jasmine were sitting at the table, munching breakfest.I asked them "where are Joey & your dad?" Arianna said "barn," & went back to chowing down her cereal.Arianna wanted to get down to the barn as soon as possible.I asked Jasmine "are Jewel, Darci & Jonathan still asleep?" Jasmine looked up from reading the newspaper & said "yep." I nodded & dragged myself back up the stairs.I was definitly not a morning person.I walked to Jonathan's room & knocked.He wasn't awake yet.I walked in & walked over to his bed, were Jonathan was snoring softly.I shook him gently & said "wake up sleepy head." Jonathan opened his eyes, & I leaned down & kissed him on the cheek."you've got to get dressed & come down for breakfest now." Jonathan shut his eyes for a second, then got up.I woke up Darci, & then Jewel.Then I walked back downstairs & poured myself a bowl of cereal & a cup of coffee.When I was half-way through my bowl of cereal, Jewel walked into the kitchen.She was wearing a baby blue sprakly long-sleeved shirt, & black flare jeans.She was followed by Jonathan, who was wearing jeans & a green t-shirt, then Darci came into the kitchen, her hair was in a ponytail, & she was wearing a long-sleeved pink t-shirt with a big light purple flower on it.She was also wearing a light purple skirt.They all started making there own breakfest."Jewel, would you mind helping Darci with her hair?" I asked.Jewel nodded.Then I put my dishes in the dishwasher & walked down to the barn.Fiery Miss was tied up in her stall, all tacked up, like I had requested of the grooms.I walked into her stall, untied her, then led her to the indoor arena.The perky bay Holsteiner/TB filly stood quietly as I mounted her.I squeezed her into a walk.She obediently walked on, a spring in her step.After warming her up at all 3-gaits, I dismounted, set up a few groundpoles & a small 1 ft x-rail, then mounted again.I walked Fiery Miss over the groundpoles & x-rail.Then I got her to trot over the groundpoles.She extended her trot nicely, went straight, & kept a nice, even pace.Then I trotted her over the x-rail.She jumped it perfectly, with lots of scope.(because she jumped it like it was 3 feet)I trotted her over the x-rail a couple of more times, then I walked her out & dismounted.I led Missy back to the stable & handed her to a groom.Then I grabbed a lead rope & jogged out to the pasture which Candy Apple shared with Mischievous Sunny & Fiery Miss.Sunny & Candy were grazing by each-other.I went into the pasture & clipped a lead rope to Candy Apple's halter.I led the 5 y/o Appaloosa mare inside & put her in the crossties.I went to the tack room & grabbed a lunge line, lunge whip, grooming box & my western chaps.I brought that back to where Candy Apple was, then walked backt to the tack room & grabbed a western saddle, western saddlepad, western bridle, western breastplate & a pair of leg wraps.I brought that back to where Candy Apple was & quickly groomed her off.Then I tacked her up.Candy Apple took the bit easily as I put on her bridle & held her legs still while I wrapped them.I led Candy to the outdoor riding arena & quickly lunged her.Then I mounted her.I hacked Candy & made sure that she looked good.Then I dismounted & led her back to the stable where I handed her to a groom.I found Joey in the gedlings barn & asked him "would you mind helping me with Corrado? I want to break him to a rider today." Joey agreed to help me, so I brought Corrado in from his paddock & groomed him + tacked him up.Then I led the colt to the indoor riding arena.Joey was there, waiting for me.I lunged Corrado for a while.Then had Joey hold his reins.I grabbed a mounting black & brought it over to Corrado.First, I leaned over his back.Then I put one foot in the stirrup, so I was not stepping on the mounting black anymore.I Corrado shifted his weight nervously.He was not used to having weight on his back.Joey pulled on his reins & got Corrado to take a step.He took one step forward, then another.Joey led him arouns the arena at a walk a couple of times before I quickly dismounted & led Corrado back to the stable, whee I handed him to a groom to untack.I said to Joey "thanx for helping me with Corrado." Joey shrugged & said "no problem, mom." I waved & said to him "I'll see you later, I have some horses to ride & train." Joey nodded, & I walked off to an Arabian stallion named Storm Cloud's paddock...
