I was going to start Jersey on lunge line today. Well actually we started last week. I clipped it onto her halter. I led her around with it at a walk. Then I let her out at a slow trot. We trotted for about 10 minutes and then I walked her. Then we trotted one more time for 5 minutes. The pretty filly trotted daintily around the arena. After 5 minutes I cooled her out at a walk. Then I went and gave her a light grooming and put her in her stall.
Next I went into Tally's stall and slipped the little halter over her head, no fuss. I clipped on the leadrope and led her around the stall again.I led her out into the stable yard and she froze when she heard Courage whinny from the paddock. She pricked her ears over in that direction and before I could stop her she took off. I ran behind her pulling on the leadrope and she stopped at Courage's paddock and they sniffed each other. I pulled her head around and we walked of in the opposite direction. I scolded her for running off. Then I turned her and we walked off into the barn. She walked just next to me and we continued walking for just a few minutes. Then we trotted down the aisle. She stayed right beside me the whole way. Then I cooled her out and put her in her stall.
