I fetched Memento from his stall and lead him outside into the sun. i cross tied him in the yard and gave his sleek body a brush down. As usual he was a lil excited as i saddled him. i decided it was time to take him to the cross country course at the back of the property again. i warmed him up by circling him around at a trot then a canter. After a few mins i headed on to the course and started my watch. We cantered towrds the first jump of about 3' and he took it easily soaring far above the brush fence. We headed towards a double brush fence and he lunged entusiastically over both.he continued without even losing a stride on towards the next jump. we jumped faultlessly over som 3'7" ers and then the final jump, a huge log, high above the ground with a large ditch behind, was high... about 4'. once again without even a second thought- he jumped high enough to clear it with inches to spare. at the last second i felt him realise there was a ditch , but he knew it was too late to do anything, so he continued to soar high in the air. he landed esily, despite the height and we flew past the finish. we achieved an excellent time because of his fast canter and extroudanary jumping talent. i walked him for a whiole then hosed him down and released him into the paddock.
