I walked up to the red gate of the pasture & then opened it.I was getting Braveheart so I could work with her on trailering.I clipped the lead rope I was carrying to Braveheart's small leather halter and led her up to the stable. The mahogany bay, 8 month old Holsteiner filly obediantly followed me.Braveheart already knew how to tie, groom, bathe & lead.I put her in the crossties and groomed her before leading the bay filly out to my 6 horse trailer.I opened the door to it and let Braveheart sniff the entrance.I stepped inside the trailer and pulled on the lead rope.Braveheart stepped forward cautiously and then balked & quickly stepped back from the trailer.I grabbed a carrot out of my jeans pocket and let Braveheart sniff the carrot. She eagerly stretched her neck towards the carrot.I stepped back into the trailer and pulled on the lead rope again.Braveheart stood still but then decided to go forward because she wanted the carrot.Braveheart stepped forward and then up into the trailer.I fed her the carrot, patted her and told the happily carrot-munching filly that she was "such a good girl!" I led Braveheart in and out of the trailer a few more times and then led her back to the pasture where I turned her out with a yearling named Pride's Breeze.I then walked to Corrado's paddock.Corrado was Braveheart's twin. The bay colt was by my grand prix jumper Calypso who had olympic winning horses in his pedigree, and was out of my grand prix jumper mare, Miss Congeniality who also had amazing bloodlines.Braveheart was very sweet and spirited, and I knew shw would be a excellent jumper like her parents, Corrado though, was sure to be a amazing jumper with potential to go to the olympic's or at least, the grand prix's.I saw Corrado playing in the pasture with a yearling named Priceless while there other pasturemate, Fiery Challenge, layed down a little ways away from them, dozing in the afternoon sunlight.Corrado saw me by the fence and galloped over to me as fast as his gangly long legs could carry him.I patted him on the nose and clipped a lead rope to his halter, I was goinbg to work with Corrado on halter today.Corrado knew more than Braveheart and could already stand, tie, lead, bathe, groom, trailer and did halter.I led Corrado back to the stable. His b ay coat already shone in the light and I decided not to groom him.I led him to the indoor arena and walked him around the ring. Then, I started running along side of him.Corrado trotted along side me showing off with a long, smooth trot that had lots of extension and was very graceful.I trotted him around the arena for a littl bit before walking him to the middle of the arena, getting him to stand squarely and turning towards him. Then, I led the Holsteiner colt back to the stable and gave him a carrot before turning him out with his pasture buddies.I watched as Corrado galloped away from the gat to his buddies kicking up his heels and galloping as fast as he could. He stood next to Priceless and Fiery Challenge, then Fiery Challenge started running & Corrado imdeialty caught on and raced beside him. Both of the colts were going as fast as they could, Corrado passed Challenge and inched away frm him. Finally, both of the colts slowed down and dropped there heads to graze on the long green grass that grew in the pasture.I watced them a little longer before walking back to the stable.
