"okay Alex",I said"I'm going to lunge Fiery Miss,who do you want to lunge"?"how about...ohhh...I think i'll lunge Breezy",(Pride's Breeze) Alex replied.I nodded and we walked out to the filly's pasture.Alex clipped the lead rope he was carrying to Breezy's halter and I attached my lead rope to Fiery's halter.We led the 2 yearling filly's up to the barn and put them in there stalls.Then,I brushed Fiery and Alex brushed Breezy.When we had finished brushing the 2 yearlings,I led Fiery out to one of the roundpens and Alex led Breezy out to another round pen.I attached a lunge line to Fiery's halter and backed up a few steps.Fiery stood there unsure what to do.I flicked the end of the lunge line in her direction and she walked on to get away from the "wriggling thing".I lunged Fiery @ a walk for a while in both directions and then I turned her out with Breezy who had been lunged at a walk while Fiery had.Then,I walked out to Silver Tshockwaves paddock and led him inside to his stall.I groomed Tshockwave and the led hom out to the round pen.I attached a lunge line to his halter and the flicked the end of the lunge line behind him.Tshcokwave jumped forward and walked on.I praised him with a "good boy" and let him walk on.I lunged Tshockwave at a walk in both directions for about 5 minutes,and then I turned him out in his paddock after I had given him a peppermint.When I finished turning out Tshockwave,I walked up to the barn to get Elite Challenge ready for our first ride together.
