I walked into the barn. I imediately went to see Dutchess. When I looked in her stall I saw not only Dutchess but a
beautiful red chestnut colt. "So, your finally here little guy." I said. Dutchess looked so happy. I then left the two alone. I went over to Sparkle and began to groom her. i tacked her up and we went for a nice long trail ride. In a
small meadow next to the trail i saw a mother deer and her fawn. Sparkle nickered at them and they ran away. When we came back, I untacked her and gave her some treats. I then took Sparkle to see Flame and Dutchess. Sparkle nickered at her friend and Dutchess whinied back. Dutchess was happy to see Sparkle. Flame stayed close to his mother but as I was getting ready to take Sparkle back to her stall, Flame whinnied at her and came up and sniffed her nose. He then ran back to his mother. I put Sparkle away and began to groom Courage. I tacked him up and we headed out to the ring. Today I only lunged him for a few min. before I mounted him. We walked around the ring once or twice and I asked him for the trot. He, like yesterday, troted as fast as he could possibly go. I, again, did a sitting trot and lots of circles to slow him down. Unlike yesterday, he settled down within a few min. to a nice steady trot.
After a few laps around the ring I asked him to walk. His transition was surprisingly smooth."Good boy Courage!" I told him. We walked for awhile before we reversed and troted the other way. This transition went beautifully well too. He picked up a nice flowing trot. I alternated troting with walking for the next 20 min. Next time i would try to canter him. I cooled him off and untacked him. I gave him a treat and put him away. i said my finally good bye's to my horses and gave them all 1 last treat. i then went home.
