I walked into the barn with holly and the dogs right behind me. "Mommy, when can I go ride Mini?' Holly asked. "Mini is at Timeless Farm, where mommy's gonig to move her horses to next month. After I ride my horses I'll take you over to ride Mini.' I answered. "OK!" holly said. I got Courage out and groomed him. I tacked him up and took him into the ring.
"Holly, you take the dogs and go sit on the bleachers!" I said. Holly took the dogs and went over there. I asked Courage to trot. He trotted beautifully around the ring. I did serpinitines and figuire 8's with him to help teach him how to bend. After working at the trot for awhile, I asked him to walk. We then picked up the canter from a walk. The transition went well. we cantered a bit before going back down to the trot. We reversed at the trot and picked up the canter the other direction. after a few times around I asked
Courage to walk. I walked him over a few poles before troting over them. He was great over the poles. I cooled him off and took him into the barn. I untacked him and let Holly take him out for some grass. She brought him back in and put him in his stall. He calmly let her take his halter off. Courage doesn't act like a stallion, I thought to myself, you would think he was a 20 year old gelding. I groomed sparkle and tacked her up. I lead her out to the ring and mounted. We walked afew mins. before trotting. She was trotting nicely, moving forward with energy and impulsion. We did a few laps at a trot before I reversed and cantered. Again, a few laps around before I let her walk. We caught our breath and then geared up for some flying lead changes. Sparkle got every one. Her changes were so smooth I could have done them bareback. I cooled her out and took her into the barn. I untacked her and asked Holly to take her out for some grass. As Holly was out grazing Sparkle, I brushed Dutchess and Flame. Just as I was finishing Flame, Holly brought Sparkle in. She put her in her stall before coming over to me. "Anything else you want me to do Mommy?" Holly asked. "No, please go play with the dogs." I answered. I then got Flame's halter out
and put it on him. He wasn't happy with it but he stood while I put it on. I then led him out of the stall, being careful to close the stall door, and took him on a walk around the farm. He seemed to enjoy it and acted like he was king of the farm. I took him back to the stall and put him in with his mother. I gave all my horses treats and the rounded up Holly and the dogs. We then went to Timeless Farm to ride Mini.
