Holly,the dogs and I walked into the barn. I got my tack out as did Holly. Today was going to be the first day my sim daughter and I were going to ride together. I grabbed Courage's halter and went to get my 'baby boy". I walked over to the gate of his field. I looked around and saw him in the far corner of the field, asleep on his feet.
"Courage!" I yelled. He quickly woke up and looked around.
He saw me at the gate and galloped over to me. "Hey boy!
How was your nap?" I asked him. He nuzzled me as i slipped on his halter. He loved living outside in a field. I lead him into the barn and put him in the crossties. Holly was already grooming Mini. "Hi Mommy! What took you so long?"
she asked. I just smiled and began to groom Courage. Soon,
Holly and I both were ready to ride. I told the dogs to lie down in the asile way and they obeyed. Holly led Mini out to the ring, checked her girth, pulled down her stirrups and mounted. I did the same and walked around the ring. After a few mins, i asked courage to trot. He did so nicely,
unlike yesterday when he took off. We pasted Mini and Holly.
Mini was trotting along slowly and Holly was trying to make her go faster. "Come on! Go faster Mini!' Holly said. "I didn't put on the brake!" I circled Courage and as I pasted
Holly again told her to kick Mini harder. She did as she was told and Mini moved forward nicely. I did lots of circles on Courage, including some tight turns so he could get the feel of rollbacks. I let him walk for a couple of mins, before asking for the canter. We cantered once around the ring and then did a simple change acroos the diagonal.
Likw wise, we cantered once around and slowed to the trot.
I then let him walk. Holly was changing directions at the trot. "Let Mini walk now Holly!' I called out. I cooled Courage out and by the time I was done, Holly was done. We went in and untacked. I gave Courage a treat and then turned him out. He bucked and kicked and then got down and rolled. Holly was putting Mini away while i was getting Sparkle out. I groomed her. She was fat. "Just think girl, only 2 more days to go1" I said. I turned her back out and got Dutchess out. i groomed her and rode her on a bareback ride. I then turned her back out and Holly, the Dogs and I
went home.
