First off , do a portscan to find out what server they are running like PanZer said , then telnet to the site or network and see the info banner at the top , go look for exploits for it , if not you can do some other things like PanZer has taught me , like Using DOS internal commands once you have telnetted , also you can try to find their passwd file if they are running Unix/Linux which should be a port 111 and use John The Ripper Or something to decrypt/decode the file into real passwords , then you use a very large wordlist available at packetstorm as user names and or the name you want to try with all of the passwords :-) , oh and if you want to be cautious about it my special way is use one of those free internet services and sign up with false information and use an anonymous proxy and a IP jammer , like the one at

from what i have done/known you do not need a wingate for that , although what i am explaining in this reply post is on cracking and hacking websites , it should work the same with networks as the Business you described earlier , if not please us PanZer's reply together with mine in any ways that help you.
