No offence mate but theres enough Stations out on the airwaves at the moment playin Drum n Bass, Garage, Happy Hardcore and Jungle etc..... I think the reason why Point Blank has done so well over the years is because they have been original from the outset. :)

Yer, I'm not saying they should play jungle, or oldskool. I think they should have a upfront 2002 hardcore set. playing brand new stuff. which not many stations are playing

Well I'm not so sure about Happy Hardcore but I've been saying for quite some time that the revival of Drum & Bass is on its way. If you don't believe me, go to any one of this year's big festivals and see for yourself. Watch this space...

Sorry ' Dj Velocity ' but I'm afraid the only good Happy Hardcore was made from 1994 - 1996. The new stuff is extremely cheesy and has to much boink, boink palava.

Steer clear, thats my advice.

If you want to hear some quality old Happy Hardcore I'm sure me and my partner in crime 'Finley' can squeeze a couple of tracks in on our set.

Catch us early Sunday morning 12.00 - 2.00am for the best Underground Trance, Harhouse and occasional Happy Hardcore.

Regards

Boy Rogers

hahahahah When was the last time you heard hardcore then? All that cheesy shit has gone out of the window mate, the new stuff is fucking quality, fucking hard and pure quality.
Check out the new stuff on Raver baby label (Hixxy and ufo)
for example.
Also for your info the 94/95 sound is coming back with Elation Records etc but in a modern way. ITs not called happy hardcore anymore, its called hardcore, Check out Slammin vinyl, Future Dance etc and then you tell me its to plonk plonk because the cheese is dead, it died in 99 along with happy hardcore, Then Hardcore was re born and its back!

For links etc to tune check out http://www.ush.net for all your info on the new hardcore stuff.

Well...
This seems to have brought on a lot of attention ?
I don't think hardcore is back at all and probably never will be. It's best that way.
It's all about the FUNK the RARE GROOVE and the US HOUSE !
It's also about real music, be it house or funk or anything for that matter, even hardcore if there are any good hardcore tunes ?
This is strictly my opinion only and I stand to be corrected if someone can play me a good, not great just good hardcore tune, I'll settle for that but until then I'm afraid it's total pants...
Check out some break beat or some drum & bass instead there's definatly quality there.
Check out THE GROOVE SKOOL Sundays 12-2pm on the big 108 and you'll hear nothing but pure quality.
Good luck

Easy now DJ Velocity. It seems your over exposure to "Hardcore" has left you a little confrontational. I sense aggression. Take a chill pill and listen to some Air.

LAB 4 don't produce hardhouse anymore, they have not done for about a year. They make Hard Trance, a style known as nu nrg, inc people like jon doe phil reynolds etc.

Hear is a link to some new hardcore by CLSM <---its the new sound.

CLSM is Jon Doe and a few other people, its a Live PA group, something hardcore has been needing for a long time.
Like I've said, hardcore has changed and lost its childish side.

http://www.jon-doe.com/clsm/clsmsausage.html

There are some short clips on there of tunes coming out.

Its wicked!!

Big up Jon Doe

Hard house? Nu NRG? Hard trance? Hardcore?

Who gives a f**k what it's called! Why do people insist on sticking everything in a box with a label? That's what the media do and look what happens when they jump on to a style - it goes commercial and the result is watered down shite for the masses. Good music is good music whatever the style. Tell me if I'm wrong but aren't the best records always the ones that break down the boundaries and push things forward, not the ones that are made to fit in with a certain crowd following a certain style. The main reason that the veterans of the house scene always go on about the early days isn't just because of the drugs - it's also because different people from different genres united as one family. Free your mind and your ass will follow...

Its true, in the oldskool days 88-93 it was all one scene, but styles developed and people needed names for each style so they could discuss it and buy it more easily.
Thats why we need names for all the diffrent styles of dance music.
to be honest Hard house/Nu nrg/Hard Trance/Hardcore/Oldskool etc is all Just Hard dance. Which is the future btw ;)

The future is not hard dance, infact it's not hard anything...
The future is being able to create a vibe with music, it's bringing people together with a true party feeling.
Let's face it, if you can play music without trying to stick to one style you should be on the right track to sucsess. It is after all the DJ's who aren't afraid to drop something obscure that break barriers and cross boundries.
I short, just play MUSIC, good music & keep it real...

Rupin thats not totaly true. It depends on the situation. For example if you dropped a gayrage, opps sorry Garage track at a rave you would be dragged off the stage and beaten to a pulp. People don't want weak chilled music at all night dance events. But I agree varity on the radio is nice, but thats a diffrent situation.

check out this site :) Some nice tunes and mixes. Modern day hardcore right through to 1992 Oldskool Rave Acen style Trip to the moon ;)

There are several interesting opinions on this subject so I thought i'd add my own. Whatever this music is called and whoever likes it I am more than satisfied with the current selection of music on point blank. It has been playing quality music for years and hopefully will continue for many more. If I tuned into point blank and heard some kind of demented repetitive banging of dustbin lids, and various other non musical instruments pounding my ears at several hundred beats per second then I would surely throw my stereo out of the window or at the very least change to another radio station.
There is my opinion and I am entitled to it,
Long live funky house and long live the Sunday Groove Skool which always lightens up my day.
Thankyou Rubin and all other Djs of Point Blank for bringing so many people so much joy.

DOES IT REALLY MATTER WHAT FLICKS YOUR SWITCH OR ROCKS YOUR BOAT, AS LONG AS YOUR ARE HAPPY WITH YOUR MUSICAL STYLE. I'M GLAD THERE IS SUCH A WIDE VARIETY OF MUSIC TO CHOOSE FROM (IF EVERY ONE LISTENED TO THE SAME SOUND HOW BORING WOULD THAT BE? )BUT LETS REMEMBER ITS A PERSONAL OPINION AND SOMETIMES AN EXTENSION OF OUR PERSONALITIES ( WE CAN'T CHANGE OTHER PEOPLES MINDS SO WHY BOTHER TRYING )I TRY TO RESPECT PEOPLES MUSIC CHOICE AND HOPE THEY DO THE SAME FOR ME. MANY THANKS STEVE ELUSIVE VINYL

Well If you do like your hardcore, Seduction FM 106.90 does play it because there are people out there who do enjoy it. Varity is what radio needs.
Point blank covers the house spectrum, We cover the hard dance spectrum, Trilogy covers the breaks and garage spectrum. What a good balance :)

Those of u who don't live in Reading you will soon be able to listen to us on the net and an upgrade to 500 Watts should make many of within are transmittion range.

seduction going 24/7 soon ;)
