Having experienced credit card fraud with my mother-in-law
you need to IMMEDIATELY notify all 3 credit bureaus-you can find this info at annualcreditreport.com.
The credit card companies will not ATTEMPT to locate and charge these people. With my mother-in-law there were numerous new accounts open and thousands of dollars charged. This person was also using her name to establish these accounts. She is 72 and disabled. We were responsible for proving she did not open these accounts. A BIG NIGHTMARE. Thru her CPA the FBI became involved and after 2 years the person(we knew her address and phone number from requesting copies of bills from utility companies-there were 4 separate telephone bills)was finally arrested and served 18 months in jail. GOOD LUCK AND MUCH PATIENCE. Look up info on credit card fraud on line. It will amaze you.
