Okay... we haven't got a writer for this yet. Any takers???

Ripper #03
TEASER
We continue where we left off. Giles and Seth watch the van drive off into the distance. Seth tries to go after them but Giles stops him. He knows exactly where they're going. They need to think. They argue, with Seth wanted to know what the hell is going on and who the people who took Emily were. Giles says that he works for them... or at least he thought he did.

In the van, Emily is tied up at the Watchers Council team who are desperately trying to stop them fighting against her.

ACT ONE
Back at Giles' place, he is trying to get things together to leave and find Emily - he's off to London to the Council headquarters. Seth is annoyed that no one's telling him anything. Giles tells him that his knowledge of demons and all comes from the fact that he's a member of a top secret international organisation that deals with destroying the demonic menace that the world is suffering from. Seth wants to come with him but Giles refuses - he has to do this himself

Emily is eventually brought to London where she is questioned about her infiltrating their database. She doesn't know what they mean or even who they are. That's where they prove how ruthless they can be and bring out the torture equipment.

Giles races to London to meet with Travers, knowing the he'll have information on this. He has trouble getting access to him.

While Giles is gone, Seth breaks into his flat to find out more. While he is searching for things, Giles' old flame Olivia walks in looking for Giles having heard that he moved back to England. She sees Seth and the mess the place in and thinks he's trying to rob the place.

Emily eventually reveals that the only reason she may have gone near the Council's information was while looking for information on her father, Giles. The Watchers realise the problem they may be in and want Giles taken into custody.

ACT TWO
Giles makes his way to the Council headquarters (which is, no doubt, in disguise as some legitimate business or other on the outside) and gets in an argument with a receptionist at the Council's headquarters about speaking with Travers. The old man himself appears, along with several other people who drag Giles away by force.

Seth tries to explain to Olivia that he's not a burglar as well as what's happening, which is a little too much for her - Giles having a daughter... the kidnapping... the everything! She and Seth actually get along with their having problems coming to terms with the weirdness. She wants to know if there's anything she can do. Seth wishes he knew.

Giles is being questioned by Travers about Emily and how she got into their systems. Giles says he has no idea - he didn't even know she had... but she did know about him being a Watcher. He can't cooperate with them but he demands to see his daughter. Travers tells some people to take Giles to the infirmary... which really pisses him off, threatening to kill Travers if Emily is hurt.

Emily is recovering from the torture she went through. She has a few bruises, burns and a headache from a psychic probing but is otherwise okay. Giles is brought in and two guards are left outside. Giles is REALLY pissed off when he sees what the Council has done to her. She's scared and is a little worried about what's happening - she can't believe that Giles would even consider working for them. He seems to wonder the same thing.

Back in Bath, Seth and Olivia are having a few drinks in a quiet pub. Olivia talks about how she mets Giles and their past etc. (whoever's writing can elaborate but I noticed that she called him Ripper in season 4 so she must have known him for quite a while... I'd say when he was a young Watcher... he did tell her about demons and magic but she didn't believe him... at a guess I'd say they knew each other when he was in his early-mid 30s but I'm not sure how old she is... I'll have to check). The convo with Seth pretty much involves the demonic stuff... Olivia says she didn't believe it until she saw it herself, after that it was easy to accept. Seth finds it a little more difficult. He's not naive - he is interested in murders and all - but he just thought the world was a little simpler than it really is. Olvia smile, "the world's never simple when Ripper is around." And just as Seth questions why exactly people keep calling him Ripper we cut to...

Travers in a meeting with several Watchers (including Nigel, Lydia and Phillip from 'Checkpoint' among others). Nigel questions Travers' bringing "the girl" in - especially with everything going on - something that Giles may not agree with. Travers says that they're embracing the future. Lydia things that's all fair and good but they don't need Giles here right now considering his history with "certain people". Travers is happy everything will be alright. The situation is being dealt with.

ACT THREE
Giles looks around for a way to get out, trying to find a weapon. Emily suggests he doesn't try it, pointing out a few cameras around the room. Giles is surprised the Council has got so advanced. It seems the Watchers have gone rather technological over the past year and he wonders how they could have managed that. Emily says that everyone has to enter the 21st century at some point. Giles, however, thinks that the Council doing so just makes them even more dangerous.

Travers walks down the alleyway, flanked on either side by two psychics and with Lydia and Nigel behind him.

In Bath, Olivia and Seth are getting drunker. Seth (who's been checking his mobile all night to see if there are messages from Emily or Giles) wonders why Olivia isn't worried about Giles. She points out that she knows enough about Giles' past to realise that he's been in situations worse than this before. Seth says that Emily hasn't. This leads onto a conversation with Olivia about Emily. She wants to know how Giles could have had a daughter without even knowing. Seth does his best to explain but as soon as he gets onto the whole demons and black magic he just can't help but laugh. Once he's finished he admits that he really likes Emily and he's genuinly worried about her.

Travers and the psychics enter the infirmary. He says that if Emily isn't being co-operative then they'll rip information out of her. Giles is disgusted at these methods knowing the damage that can cause. Travers says he knows that but since he can't do it to Giles because of his training to prevent psychic attacks. He asks Emily one last time to tell her what she knows but she says there's nothing. Travers lets the psychics do their work and walks out while Giles is held back.

Seth is walking Olivia back to her hotel. He says he'll call her if Giles gets back. She corrects him, saying "when". He's still not very confident and his worry pours out - he's only just met Emily and he knows that if it wasn't for Giles he wouldn't have met her but he blames him for putting her in danger. Olivia notes that from what she knows about Giles is that wherever he goes, trouble seems to follow but that's the appeal of him. Seth laughs at the idea of Giles being a "boy boy".

The psychics try to probe Emily. Giles breaks free from the Watchers that hold him back, grabbing a random weapon that comes to hand and knocks out one of the psychics. It causes some kind of feedback which knocks the other one out as well. He grabs Emily and tells them they're going.

ACT FOUR
Giles and Emily belt down the corridors of the Council HQ as fast as they can. Emily wants to know where the exit is. Giles tells her they're not going there - they're paying Travers a visit.

Seth gets Olivia back to her hotel room. She trips a little as they walk up some stairs. They're both a bit drunk. He makes a joke about her being "a bit of alright for an older woman." She thanks him and agrees that he's "not all that bad for a little boy." They laugh a little and suddenly move into kiss.

Emily argues with Giles' plan. She's just as pissed off with Travers after what he did to her but this isn't the time. Giles thinks it is. He kicks the door to the office open and storms in, grabbing Travers and throwing him against the wall. He wants to know what's happening and why he had Emily treated the way she was. Travers says that it wasn't down to him - they have sponsers who didn't want the system compromised. Giles asks about the sponsers. We suddenly here a *thwipp* sounds and Travers suddenly falls to the ground.

Olivia and Seth stop themselves and burst out laughing, shaking the almost kiss off. It didn't happen (Note: and we won't even take it beyond this - just a single incident). Seth leaves. Olivia goes back in, genuinly concerned about Giles...

...who looks up to see a pipe disappearing into a hole in the corner of the wall. Emily looks at Travers' body. There's a dart embedded in it. She points to it and says "Toxic Dart" (just to satisfy my geeky side I have to have a Star Wars reference :) Giles looks concerned.

We fade out and when we return...

...Giles returns to Bath with Emily. He complains about the Council keeping them back from getting back but at least they didn't have the nerve of trying to question them after everything that happened to them. They get into his flat and sit down. Emily is still in a little shock. Giles asks if it's too much and if she's going back to Cambridge soon. She tells him she wants to stay. He did all of this to save her and finally calls him "dad" but admits it sounds a little weird. He smiles, saying it sounds rather odd to him but they'll get used to it. He takes her hands in his and says he's proud of her. Although we don't hear it, Olivia has walked in. "I hope I haven't walked in on a family get together," she says. Giles looks shocked to see her again.
