Subject: Oregon Trail - dissent against Polygamy

Some of my ancestors ended-up in Oregon because they disagreed with the Salt Lake LDS Church stand on polygamy. They settled not far from Eugene in the Willamette River Valley. I am now finding hints that there were a lot of early Mormons who opted for Oregon for the same reason. I think that some of those who opted-out of the Salt Lake City-Mormon Church may have chosen to affiliate with the RLDS. I am writing a book and am looking for information that would help me follow that thread. If you have information on that subject, or could point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Warren
