I am a member of the Community of Christ and can tell you that there are a number of direct descendants of Joseph Smith in the church today. Wallace B Smith, a great-grandson of Joseph Smith Jr. and president-emeritus of the church is still alive as are his family members. They are a number of others who descend from the various sons and daughters of Josheph & Emma active in the church today. There are also some in the Church of Christ - Temple Lot.
