Subject: Another day like so many others...

Jerana sat off to the side as she watched the people around her converse, play, eat, and make fun. In her lap was a sketchbook. Her hand held a pencil delicately as she traced soft lines and daring angles. She loved drawing the world around and had worked hard to get to her level of ability.

Her life-like drawings were her pride and joy. She glanced up, her blue eyes alighting on her subject, a mother and child enjoying a midmorning snack. She smiled, her lips drifting into a gentle crescent.

As she glanced toward the Cavern's open mouth she glimpsed the shadow of a dragon flying overhead. One day, she thought. One day I will meet my partner. Then I can fly too.
