Subject: OOC: None of /my/ Elves do, but I suppose people have different views of what Elves look like, and They /did/ leave "elves" pretty open to interpretation...*shrugs* But I'm a LotR nerd, so that's the path I typically follow...whatever. It's just that when I read "glow", I start thinking that you've had a bunch of flourescent paint dumped on you...no offense intended, Oricon... BIC: Mai'tsa blinks, a little swamped by the replies to her simple question. Well, she'd addressed all three of them, and gotten her due; so be it. "Um...good," she says simply to the two, then replies to Adwen, "My name's Mai'tsa. And no, I don't believe I've met you before either. What's your name?"
In reply to: Auguria 's message, "Muscles soothed by the water, Auguria decides to come back out of the water. Grabbing the towel she brought, she dabs it over her body to get most of the water off her skin, then lays it out to sit on. She starts combing through her hair with a finely carved wooden comb to get her wind-tangled hair smooth again. She looks a lot nicer than when she arrived, dirty and tired from the road. Now that she's cleaned up she looks less like a hag and more like the fairly nice-looking young lady that she is. Her mind seems to go off somewhere as she combs her hair, her eyes staring off into space." on 10:33:11 09/18/03 Thu

  • oh good! so you know what Galadriel looked like in the movie, 1st! Errie and full of light! That is what I am supposed to have anyway... (NT) -- Oricon the completely lost..., 16:20:36 10/18/03 Sat
  • Galadriel wasn't glowing. Tolkien's elves don't glow. Yes, I know it may say (like, in "The Silmarillion") that they have "the light of Aman" in their faces, but it's /not/ something you'd describe as a "glow"; it basically just means that...well, you know how you can look at a person's face and say, "That is a person who knows why they are alive and is happy about it"? /That's/ the kind of "glow" Tolkien refers to. And Galadriel may look eerie and serene in the movie, but her skin doesn't actually glow. In case you haven't watched the movie enough to realize that.
