Galadriel wasn't glowing. Tolkien's elves don't glow. Yes, I know it may say (like, in "The Silmarillion") that they have "the light of Aman" in their faces, but it's /not/ something you'd describe as a "glow"; it basically just means that...well, you know how you can look at a person's face and say, "That is a person who knows why they are alive and is happy about it"? /That's/ the kind of "glow" Tolkien refers to. And Galadriel may look eerie and serene in the movie, but her skin doesn't actually glow. In case you haven't watched the movie enough to realize that. To elaborate, Galadriel lived in Valinor at the time of the Two Trees, which were created by the Vala and were thus divine, and that light - the light the comes of viewing the divine - never departed from the countenances of those who beheld it; ever after were they fair of face. Tolkien never states that they glowed, because they don't. Melian the Maia never glowed, Luthien Tinuviel never glowed, Galadriel never glowed... It is also noted that often these women are described through the eyes of males: Beren, Thingol, so on and so forth... You get the idea. And men - not to offend anyone - are known to behold a pretty face as more beautiful than others may behold it - yea, even other men in some cases. Anyway, do you get my point? You can't just see the movies and get everything out of them that you need to know, my darling Oricon; movies aren't made to do that. You have to read up on them.
