      • Lily allows Rustam to undress the wound. It appears that an arrow has struck her just below the collar bone. She's lost a lot of blood (I'm not sure how you would find that out) but her clothes are clean (meaning that she has changed since the incident). Again Rustam can notice that the wound is poorly dressed. The wound is slightly larger than it should be. It seems that Lily had some trouble getting the arrow out. • OOC: How the heck am I supposed to get out a barbed arrowhead? Unless you're ready for major pain...well, here goes. BIC: Rustam winces at how bad the wound is looking. "Well, the first thing to do is get that arrowhead out. This is going to really hurt, but hang on tight." He grasps her arm firmly in one hand. With the other, he pinches the arrowhead securely and pulls sharply. With a little resistance, it comes out.     • Pulling the arrowhead out inevitably caused the wound to start bleeding rather profusely again. Rustam let out an expletive under his breath and quickly grabbed the bandage, wrapping it tightly around the wound and then grabbing her arm to put pressure on it. After a while, the bleeding slowed. • Mackai was slightly startled at Qu's sudden movements but she was ready. Still holding the dagger in her left hand she tried a downward parry when his dagger came close.   • "Careful. We're working on upward, and side parrys. Downward parrys are harder to do as you have to move with your dagger. Ok?" After her acknowledgement (ooc I hope you don't minde) IC he thrusts again aiming at her left shoulder then at her right then the right again then toward her face and then to her left side and then continues with random placements. (ooc I'm letting you say where you miss and not, obviosly,) Ic When ever she missed or when she did something a bit asque, he would mention it before thrusting again. When she missed, he never touched her with his dagger, but stopped just short of touching her, excepting the face where he stopped a bit sooner so as not to scare her and cause her to hurt herself, and he would say something as to why she missed and what she needed to do to fix it.     • Mackai enjoyed the constructive criticism that she was getting. She really did want to be good at this someday and this was helping beyond anything she could've hoped for. The fact that Qu didn't actually ever touch her with the dagger gave her even more confidence in herself. She was becomin quite adept with her left hand. So in short Mackai parrys left for the blade aimed at her shoulder and was successful. The first right thrust she again manages to parry correctly but on the second right thrust for some reason she performed a left parry. Yes, I know it may say (like, in "The Silmarillion") that they have "the light of Aman" in their faces, but it's /not/ something you'd describe as a "glow"; it basically just means that...well, you know how you can look at a person's face and say, "That is a person who knows why they are alive and is happy about it"? /That's/ the kind of "glow" Tolkien refers to. Tolkien never states that they glowed, because they don't. Melian the Maia never glowed, Luthien Tinuviel never glowed, Galadriel never glowed... It is also noted that often these women are described through the eyes of males: Beren, Thingol, so on and so forth... You get the idea. And men - not to offend anyone - are known to behold a pretty face as more beautiful than others may behold it - yea, even other men in some cases. Anyway, do you get my point?   • Wiping away tears from laughing so hard, Mai'tsa shakes her head (still laughing, of course), and says weakly, "No, no...that's fine. It's a...haha.../good/ kind of hurt...I like it...yes, I know I'm...weird...heeheehee!!!" And she starts off again, but the laughing attack is passing. See? Nothing lasts forever. And suffering can sometimes be a good thing, because it helps ensure that nothing lasts for ever. For instance, if Mai'tsa had taken the vial of liquid from Oricon, she would not have stopped laughing for who-knows-how-long. And would probably suffer from terrible stomach cramps when the potion finally wears off (as it must, eventually), and then she would not be very much fun (or healthy) to be around. So it's a good thing she doesn't take the vial. She may not completely realize this - one rarely thinks about such things when one is laughing as hard as she is - but, as she mentioned, she likes the feeling of laughing so hard your stomach hurts.
