They hadn't had to deal with it. Qu was different he /knew/; he had experienced more or less the same things. Mackai smiled. "I'm not very good yet but I've been practicing and I'm a lot better than when I first started. I haven't learned hand to hand with them yet, but I can throw pretty well." Mackai dashed over to the wall and grabbed several wooden targets and three steel daggers. She set the targets up a good distance away and then returned to stand by Qu. Drawing one dagger in her right hand by the blade, she raised her arm to the side of her head and let the dagger fly. It landed on the third from the middle on the target. Selecting the next dagger she repeated the process and hit the second ring to the center. On her third try she managed to hit the center of the target.
