Subject: Possible 49ers Draft

I have been looking at alot of draft possibilities lately and I thought that this could work...

This also depends on the restructuring of J.J. Stokes contract and the signing of free agent WR Willie Jackson.

Trade 1st round pick (27) and 5th round pick (172) to Carolina for the Panthers 2nd round pick (34) and third round pick at #67.

This would allow Carolina to get the running back they are seeking.

Second Round (#34) - Derek Ross, CB, Ohio State
Has size and speed and Ohio St. produces good, solid corners (see Shawn Springs, Nate Clements, Ahmed Plummer).

Second Round (#61) - Victor Rodgers, T, Colorado
Solid pass blocker, with size, who teamed with Geroude to form explosive running attack at Colorado.

Third round (#67) - Trev Faulk, ILB, LSU
Teamed with Peterson and Winborn, this pick solidifies a young, and athletic linebacking corp.

Fourth Round (#127) - Joaquin Gonzalez, T, Miami (FL)
Sound blocker with mean streak. Niners need depth on offensive line, and this would be a solid pick.

Fifth Round (#163) - Randy Fasani, QB, Stanford
I would have picked J.T. O'Sullivan, but he attended Jesuit High, the same high school that produced Carmazzi. I'll take the other Sacramento quarterback.

Sixth Round (#201) - John Stamper, DE, South Carolina
Could give 49ers a nice complement to Andre Carter at DE.

Seventh Round (#239) - Grant Irons, DE, Notre Dame
Has size. Could be a nice fit at tackle instead of end.

Seventh Round (#249) - Dave Volk, T, Nebraska
Played tackle in college. Solid blocker who could be a solid guard with development.

Seventh Round (#256) - Markese Fitzgerald, CB, Miami (FL)
Corner with size, speed and is not afraid to tackle. Played nickel cornerback behind Buchannon and Rumph at Miami (FL).
