Flintlock don't always have the flash hole lined up properly with the pan. Cocking the ML is really hard because the spring seems like about 10 pounds. I used 25 to 30 FF to shoot in mine with no problems. Check the barrel inside for rust. These ML are rarely shot. You want to make sure that breech,barrel and nipple are in good shape.
