Subject: To live is to Suffer pt.1

Only 10 years old should be finding Nemo
but he got cancer extended sessions of chemo
in a world of jaded torment can't have love
no hostility involved but he had bad blood
sickle cell/leukemia started to eat him up
if theres a meaning in pain he never needed one
bouts' with depression "take it easy son".
That was what therapists would say
Always wore a hat going out to play
his hair was falling out at night
the pain stung he'd sing out at night
No microphones and what makes it worse
life at home is hell, abusive stepdad
its like his bones were striked with stones
doctors had removed the cancer
he would look in the mirror and laugh
if to live is to suffer death ain't so bad
if you're smart money he not the one you betting on
he found out that his faith was hella strong
now he's not just a sick kid on a telethon
he had gained weight hair grew back in
to live is to suffer, yes
this time defeatist spirits didn't win.
