I got ripped off by Laptopnet.com Inc of 7351 NW 7th St, Ste H, Miami FL. This previous post is correct. I won a Dutch auction for one of 3 Olympus D-490 Digital Cameras on ebay at the end of March. I sent my payment per their terms by personal check $340 plus $25 shipping. They recieved it 4/4/01. On 4/23, 2001 they sent an email saying the shipment was delayed 2 more weeks. Another auction winner got his camera on 5/11/01 (he paid with credit card!) and I called them in Miami and laptopnet said they would ship 5/14/01 and no camea ever came. They were banned from ebay by mid May and their phone and fax was no longer answered by the beginning of June and their emails bounced back at the same time. Now they are believed to have moved up the street from their previous location and trading under the name Genialbid.com. Websites: www.laptopnet.com and www.genialbid.com. Buyer Beware. Don't do business with them. You will be sorry. The low prices are a total scam. They may even be dealing with stolen merchandise (this last statement is supposition). I have filed with Consumer Protection Division in Florida, Better Business Bureau, Internet Fraud Report, and will file with ebay SafeHarbor. This was the first time I ever bought anything online on auction and the last time. I could not get any money
from ebay because over 60 days had elapsed to file a claim. So investigate any purchase very deeply before sending
anyone any money. My friend Deirdre buys on ebay a lot and she said about 10% of the time she does not receive what she
paid for. Don't be a victim. If you get ripped off, report it, follow up on it. You do have rights. You can file in small claims court. You can get the post office to investigate if their is mail fraud. Stand up and be counted.
