Happy Birthday -- Susan Ciriello, 09:51:18 07/28/01 Sat
... my favorite actor of all time. Thank you for the many moving, humorous, fearsome, thought-provoking, inspiring, and entertaining performances you've given us so far. Your Captain Sawyer this year was especially memorable and touching. I can hardly wait to see you on the stage in Major Barbara in a few weeks! Congratulations on your great reviews.
Wishing you continued success, more choice roles, and all the happiness that you've given your audiences over the years, both on your birthday and in the coming year.

I don't know what to say... -- Cinéphilia, 20:02:52 07/27/01 Fri
I've had a tough week and my head is almost empty right now. Let's see... I'll just start with what should come first for this occasion: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. WARNER AND THANK YOU FOR BRINGING SO MANY FASCINATING AND MOVING CHARACTERS TO LIFE ON BOTH THE STAGE AND THE SCREEN...
The world would be a lesser place without your Blifil, your Morgan Delt, your Hamlet, your Edward II, your Lysander, your Konstantin, your Joshua Sloane, your Jack the Ripper, your Dillinger, your Evil Genius, your Dr. Necessiter, your Cpt. Sawyer and now your Undershaft in "Major Barbara". I love it when you made me cry, laugh or tremble with fear. You can do almost everything. Few actors have your range.
In the past three years and a half, ever since my rediscovery of your talent, I've enjoyed seeing most of your films and working on my site about you. Thanks to you, I discovered the genius of Sam Peckinpah, who is now one of my favorite directors. And, because of you, I saw many obscure but excellent films such as "The Bofors Gun" and got to know other talented actors much better than I used too.
So... Once again... Happy birthday to you. My wishes for you for the year to come: a great role in a great film... and a Tony nomination... and a comedy on the West End... and health and hapiness for yourself and your family. For myself: Copies of "Michael Kohlhaas" and of "Work is a Four-Letter Word".
Joyeux anniversaire Monsieur Warner!

Dear Mr. Warner,
I wish you a very happy 60th birthday! It is a pity that here in Germany your films on TV are very rare. My favourite films are "Time by time" - here called "Flucht in die Zukunft" and "Titanic".

Wishing you a happy birthday and continued success! -- Waya, 21:26:07 07/25/01 Wed
Wishing you a very happy birthday, Mr. Warner! Congratulations on the wonderful work you've done this year, and may it continue to delight us all for many years to come. No one deserves the accolades you are receiving as much as you. You've had some good performances and some great performances, occasionally a rough patch or two, and some performances that were absolutely masterful. Through it all you have persevered with dignity, grace and good humor. These are the qualities that have made you an inspiration to so many people. You should be proud of the work you have done, and I'm sure that your family is very proud of you. I wish you continued success and best wishes always to yourself and your family.
Go knock 'em dead.

Your work in TRON was great! -- Peter A. Peterson II, 08:05:27 07/25/01 Wed
Dear Mr. Warner,
As a huge fan of TRON, I just want to say that you really shone in that film. Of course I loved all the actors in that groundbreaking film, but as I grow older, I find that I appreciate your work (and Barnard Hughes') more and more. Your deliciously malevolent yet dependant villian Sark really brought a finesse to TRON that few actors could have mustered.
THANK YOU! And Happy Birthday!
Yours,
Peter

David,
First I would like to wish you happiness as you celebrate your birthday. I have never written a performer before, but when I came across this this site, I decided to wish you all the best.
I'm just a quiet Canadian gal who works in radio, but has enjoyed your work since I first saw you in "The Island" and "Time After Time". Although I haven't seen all of your projects, I do admire your performances in the ones I have seen. You are a wonderful actor!
I wish you continued success, peace and love. God bless.

Happiest of days to a brilliant artist -- Rachel Spence, 17:32:10 07/14/01 Sat
Happy Birthday, Mr. Warner. Your work has given much happiness to this Cleveland fan. As a professional actor ( yes, working..and in Cleveland, haha) I have watched your films for many years. And plunking down $8.50 just to see you! My small clique of performance major friends in college feel you are a character actor icon and followed your career with cultish fevor. I still do. You are a joy to watch. Your technique is seamless. There's a smoothness to your acting choices while filling every movement with anticipation. Speaking of anticipation, I cannot wait to see you performing GB Shaw at the Roundabout. Happiest of birthdays to a man who's talents are as varied as his resume! And thank you for your creative inspiration that has led me to this industry that can (most often) feed my family. -Rachel S.

Happy Birthday!!! -- Kim Cooper, 18:00:50 07/11/01 Wed
Greetings Mr. Warner,
It is truly a thrill for me to have this opportunity to convey this birthday message to you. I want you to know that I have the deepest admiration for you not only as one of the finest actors I've ever seen, but also as the wonderful person that you are offscreen. You are an inspiration to me and have been for 25 of my 31 years. I would love to see your performance in Major Barbara. I have heard nothing but good things about it. I sincerely hope that you have a wonderful 60th birthday. Best wishes to you in any and all present and future projects that you take on. I would love to tell you that I am your "biggest fan," but that sounds a bit too much like Kathy Bates In Misery...I don't want you to think I'm a lunatic. But I will say that I am a HUGE fan of yours, and always will be. Thank you for sharing your exceptional talent as an actor with the rest of us. I have a more positive view of the world knowing that there are people like you in it.
Happy Birthday!
With love and admiration,
Kim Cooper

To a Great Actor, Both Visually and Vocally -- Brian Rubin, 09:19:36 07/05/01 Thu
Dear Mr. Warner,
Happy Birthday! I hope that you continue to have as many successes in future years as you've had in the past. :) I'm a long time fan of yours, and have been since I was a child. I've enjoyed your theatrical work and your voice over work. The last project I saw you in was the fantastic Horatio Hornblower movies for A&E, wherein you played Captain James Saywer. I must say that, unsurprisingly, you played the neurotic Captain perfectly. Anyway, I wish you the happiest of birthdays, and look forward to seeing you continue to shine on both the big and small screens, as well as in the theater.
