Subject: I don't know what to say...

I've had a tough week and my head is almost empty right now. Let's see... I'll just start with what should come first for this occasion: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. WARNER AND THANK YOU FOR BRINGING SO MANY FASCINATING AND MOVING CHARACTERS TO LIFE ON BOTH THE STAGE AND THE SCREEN...

The world would be a lesser place without your Blifil, your Morgan Delt, your Hamlet, your Edward II, your Lysander, your Konstantin, your Joshua Sloane, your Jack the Ripper, your Dillinger, your Evil Genius, your Dr. Necessiter, your Cpt. Sawyer and now your Undershaft in "Major Barbara". I love it when you made me cry, laugh or tremble with fear. You can do almost everything. Few actors have your range.

In the past three years and a half, ever since my rediscovery of your talent, I've enjoyed seeing most of your films and working on my site about you. Thanks to you, I discovered the genius of Sam Peckinpah, who is now one of my favorite directors. And, because of you, I saw many obscure but excellent films such as "The Bofors Gun" and got to know other talented actors much better than I used too.

So... Once again... Happy birthday to you. My wishes for you for the year to come: a great role in a great film... and a Tony nomination... and a comedy on the West End... and health and hapiness for yourself and your family. For myself: Copies of "Michael Kohlhaas" and of "Work is a Four-Letter Word".

Joyeux anniversaire Monsieur Warner!
