In reply to: Sunshower 's message, "*Suddenly a strong wind blows across the land and a crow calls forlornly.*" on 11:49:27 03/22/02 Fri

I look up at Captain, did he know what she was talking about? Why hadn't he told us? Things seemed so wonderful but it was obvious that the mare had been through a great deal, so much so that she couldn't even utter the events that had occured. Breathing the fresh air, tinted with the fragrence of rain through my nostrils I take light steps toward Sunshower, knowing she may need consoling. Giving the mare that I once knew so well a comforting nuzzle to let her know whatever horrible thing happened to her wherever there was, most certainly wouldn't happen here. As lead mare, I couldn't let it happen. However brave I wanted to be, I knew this something had to be pretty powerful to strike fear in such a bold mare's heart. On the outside I welcomed the challenge, wanting to cause as much suffering as it had put forth on such a beautiful equine, inside and out. Although my anger flared, I knew the task would be much harder than I could ever be prepared for. We all had to be ready, the entire herd. No matter what it takes. The droplets of water pattered quietly in a taunting rhythm. I have to look strong, I have to be tough if I'm really going to fight this thing. But I know that however strong I look, just like Sunshower, on the inside I'll be quaking with fear.
