What Skovy is saying is Eric regarding the seniority - there is no seniority.

If someone comes in the door better than you - you're gone. No matter how long you've been with the station it's all about the market share and the happy radio listeners. Not how long you've been with the company.

As for your "friend" - I would very much imagine you feeling pains of jealousy over the new guy getting attention of any sort. But if she's your friend in the first place there shouldn't be any jealousy. :)
