Despite the fact that coming here for advice has done little or no good in the past, I am taking the chance again. It is in regard to the same brown-noser at work I had previously discussed. No longer am I so concerned with his "possible motives" regarding "my" woman. However, he is still the ultimate kiss-ass. For example, two events which I will not be able to attend, nor have I been encouraged to (neither has he, which is the thing that makes this so aggravating) are the company Christmas party, which took place last Saturday, and our station-sponsored "night" at the local festival of lights in a few weeks. I know he went to the party because he told me, and for the festival of lights, I saw his name posted on the signup sheet. Now, I have/had to work the evening of both events and as previously stated, people of our stature (part-time) are not encouraged or required to go, so I'm opting out for those reasons. He's going. I know there is nothing wrong with trying to raise your "stock" as an employee, but in additon to that lovely note he left the boss that he's "having a blast", I just think this is a bit much. Your opinions...(as opposed to the X Show's opinions). I've been told, essentially, I've supposedly already made a good impression and proven myself over time and have nothing much to worry about, but this is just soooooo irritating.
