In case anyone happens to be wondering about the whereabouts of Bert and Daphne these days, which I doubt, seeing as they were largely responsible for the demise of the X Show (you can give me all the "low ratings" and "FX budget crunch" BS you want...I don't buy it), I saw the two of them on a new VH1 show this morning called "Nevermind the Buzzcocks". I don't know much about the show, I was just channel surfing and saw Bert, so I sat and watched for about 5 minutes. Then they showed Daphne. It appears to be a game show. It looks like they have two contestants opposing each other, with two "celebrities" on each team, answering pop culture questions. Bert and Daphne were on opposite teams. It looks very much to be like a BLATANT (and very unsuccessful) rip-off of "Beat the Geeks". I don't think it's a coincidence that VH1 premieres a new GAME SHOW, gives it an airing at 10:30 am (central), "head-to-head" with, and very similar to, "Geeks", a show produced by Mark Cronin, and then puts two people on this show that used to work for Cronin. From the few minutes I saw, "Nevermind the Buzzcocks" has a long way to go to compete with "Beat the Geeks". Unless of course, it is also produced by former X Show producers, which I didn't find out. I suppose going to VH1.com could clear that up real quick. It doesn't look to me, however, like this is of nearly the same quality that an X Show producer would be known for. Again, the show is "Nevermind the Buzzcocks" on VH1. I don't know if D & B are regulars or one-time celebrity guests. And frankly, I couldn't really care less.
