Whilst the two small chipmunk like creatures. watched. Fireshard tried her best to repair Scaleblade's wounds. Long before she had arrived in the SPUniverse, she spent her time learning invaluable skills that could save her as well as others.

Inspecting the infliction upon her mother's back, Fireshard couldn't help within that curious mind of hers why she couldn't heal herself of the damage when she was attacked.

Perhaps this odd place reflected one's greatest desire and this was why Fireshard was given back her ability to speak. If that was the case, did Scaleblade not desire to be healed?
But whatever the reason, energy from this place wasn't helping.

Although that glowing gauntlet on her non-injured hand, didn't seem to help much. In fact, it seemed more likely to be stealing her energy.

Fireshard glanced at Scaleblade. Who began to come around. Fireshard gently touched the glove, and could feel chaotic energy swarming in it.

"It's.. called a Paleguard Gauntlet... It gives me power..." Scaleblade hissed gently.

"Power.. is that all you care about!? You didn't need a glove back when I was young! You didn't need such an accessory of destruction to rob me of my mouth and childhood!" Fireshard snapped at her ailed mother.

"You don't understand... I need power... I crave it.." Scaleblade tried to explain herself.

"Mother! You flirt with blasphemy!" Fireshard bore her own fangs.

Scaleblade sat up, staring at her right hand, at the gauntlet, the very thing she KNEW was driving her to insanity and death. Knowledge did nothing to offset her addiction. Addiction to power. Addiction to love. But she could see that this glove hadn't done much for her other than bring her more pain. In truth, it was a cancer slowly withering her and leading her to her death bed. She didn't want this. Not anymore. Now she saw that this was nothing but a cheap drug.

Scaleblade jumped up and grabbed the gauntlet and ripped it from her hand. Ripping the bond between herself and the chaos. Cleansing herself just that much. While Fireshard looked on. Then she threw it away.

"Daughter.. You are right.." Scaleblade rubbed her right hand, now 'free'.

A silence fell between the two. And both parent and child turned their gaze to the gauntlet. As if cold, hard, raspy whispers from it filled the air around them. Demanding one of them to become one with it. Ordering one of them acquire it's power.

"I must... have... the POWER!" Scaleblade held her head, then dived for the gauntlet.
Fireshard did as well, and, therefore, being younger and fresher, managed to reach the glove seconds before Scaleblade.

But both somehow managed to get the glove on one of their hands. Another silence took over them. They stared at each other directly in the eyes. For the moment, they seemed connected.

Within Fireshard's subconscious, she could feel the rhythmic pulsation of Scaleblade and her own sparks in unison. thashwown thashwown thaswown... She could feel every emotion Scaleblade felt. Hear every one of her thoughts. All following the pattern of their sparks. thashwown thashwown.. She could feel all the pain. All the sadness. The grief. The love.

Scaleblade, experienced the same thing. Hearing also the constant beating her and her daughter's sparks. But could feel much different emotions then she was used to. She could feel the purity of her daughter. The warm light of her aura breaching her negativity. Her spark, for that one moment, was filled with love. Fireshard's love. Her love for her father. The love for her deceased brother. And especially for her mother.

Although, as quickly as the moment passed, the gauntlet rejected Scaleblade. And the two became out of unison. The Glove had rejected Scaleblade for a younger target.
Scaleblade just stared at Fireshard, who, in her mind, had stolen the power. While Fireshard, no less in shock, exchanged her glance from her mother to the glove.

"This thing of evil.." Fireshard simply stared at the paleguard gauntlet, at the very thing that connected mother and daughter for that one moment.
But once again, Scaleblade looked away.

She could feel a rift in the flow of steady energy in this world. Even from far away. She could feel the ripple drawing stronger and closer.

"Something's coming.." Scaleblade breathed.

From the far near forest, a scream sounded. Like a hellish bat. Upon hearing this, Fireshard span around. The Paleguard gauntlet, the very tool of chaos, glowing.

"I'll destroy them... I'll absorb them for energy.." Fireshard growled, baring her fangs again. It was obvious that the glove was poisoning her. It was speaking for her. Controlling her.
