*if* we've seen several actual representations of the FE/Nyarlathotep, can we connect them to reason out "why"?

And this is where my Grand Unified Theory differs from yours, in that I have to ascribe Dawn some importance to these OO/Eldars. She's a dimensional key, and I can't believe that she's part of an earthly battle (the monks versus stuck-on-earth-Glory) because WHO would give the key to a bunch of religious time-travelling types, and why?

Furthermore, I can't see how Dracula *didn't* have something to do with Dawn, since she appeared during BvD. Given Drac's characteristics (he's a *bat*, he's a dark handsome figure, also a product of gypsies according to Spike, mind-controlling, etc), I think he makes a perfect candidate for Nyarlathotep.

I'm not sold on it, though. Up until recently, I just figured Drac was an agent of one side or the other who wanted to keep the key from Glory.

Possibly, the Chaos gods had the key and were keeping it from the antis; and the anti-Chaos gods (generally referred to as "dark" on AtS) might have wanted Glory to bring on the final battle. (Sort of fits in with my thinking about W&H) But that could be exactly backwards.

In any event, Nyarlathotep would want the key, and (if he had it) would want to keep the key where he thought it would be safe, so why not Buffy? Esp if he's just wisened her up to her true roots (Drac let her taste his blood; she started wanting to hunt).

Drac enlisted Xander as a "spy" in that episode, and put everyone in a thrall except Buffy. (He had her in a thrall, and made her "wake up" from the thrall needlessly by drinking his blood, which set her on a course of turning to her true nature -- maybe Chaotic?)

-- OMWF. Yet another singing/dancing demon that seems similar to Nyarlathotep, and like Dracula isn't ever really "defeated" (permenantly or realisitically). And *if* Nyarlathotep=Dracula=Sweet, that's the second connection he makes with Xander.

-- Lesson? Now Xander has built the very office in which our possible Nyarlathotep will work! Xander now has financial success and all the "cheese", without any direct evil connections to this guy, but within his proximity.

What I'm driving at is the connection between Nyarlathotep and Xander, and *maybe* Nyarlathotep isn't Buffy's enemy at all (or doesn't think he is), especially if he's wanting to use Buffy on his side, and if he's entrusted her with the Key.
