Here is the text, but not the replies.

Ok, way too many of the posts on these boards today complain about getting PKed at champ spawns. They ask for NUMEROUS things, including complete banning of reds for champspawn areas, limited combat on blues (yet not for reds) and even to remove powerscrolls from Felluca and put them in Ilsh where PKs arent allowed to go. Well, it has been said multiple times that none of this will ever happen (It was the whole reason Powerscrolls were put in Fel!). So on that note, I would like to give everyone who hates getting PKed at champspawns a little insight on how to avoid it. This coming from a Champ Spawn PK himself.

**Note: To all you other PKs out there, I appologize for giving them this, but with all the whining going on, it was only a matter of time before they nerfed us yet again. Possibly with this document, they may actually learn how to DEFEND themselves, and stop the whining)

1) The difference between Felluca and Trammel.
The difference is that in Felluca, you can be killed by other players. No matter how much preperation you do, no matter how hard you try, it is inevitable (sp?) that this will happen sooner or later. Your in Felluca, deal with it. If you dont like it, there are two other lands where you can go that are free of PKs.

2) Preperation:
When going to a champ spawn, you must go fully prepared. Anyone who regularly sets up for PvP understands the importance of being prepared. Make sure you are prepared, not just physically, but mentally. I have heard accounts of people crying "I went afk for 20 minutes at the oaks spawn, and came back dead! Damn PKs!" If you need to do something any time soon, dont go to a champ spawn. Always carry the proper equipment. This will be detailed later below.

3) Teamwork
The concept of teamwork has been severly lacking since the start of UO:R, except in one place: Felluca. Always be aware that PKs live in Felluca (They are red afterall, they cant leave), thus they have the mentality that a community is a MUST. PKs will generally (NOT ALWAYS, I myself am not usually a group PK) go in large numbers. This is for the simple fact that they will almost always find BLUES in large numbers, even larger than they are most of the times. Be prepared for this. Always take your own group. If you are away from the group and you see a red name pop up on your screen, STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING and High Tail it over to the rest of your group. Being alone is not a good thing when facing a large group of organized reds. If you have a set group to go to the Champ Spawns, make you you talk about it before you go. Make sure the rest of your party isnt going to hide or invis the first signs of reds, just to let you take a dirtnap without any help. Set up designated healers (at least two or three, incase its a healer that gets targeted) and designated aggressors that concentrate on combating the PKs. The aggressors should be highly skilled and would be best to be decent PvPers.

4) Ok, now we have our group together, we are mentally prepared and we understand the risks that we are taking... How do we get "PHYSICALLY" prepared?

By physically prepared, I am talking about equipment and skills. Always be prepared for an attack. As any true PvPer knows, there is a list of things you should always take into battle:
Show Incoming Names turned ON
Sure, this may cause a bit of lag, and if your on a dial up, it may not be a viable option at a champ spawn, but this will save your butts more than anything else. This takes a LITTLE of the surprise out of the attack. First time you see red name, start yelling to your group RED INCOMING. Let them get prepared. If your on dial up and it causes too much lagg for you, then stick with your group closely and listen for someone to yell RED INCOMING. Get prepared.
SKILLS
Skills that will save you... HIDING, MAGERY, and RESIST. Of course, you probably wont have all three... maybe only one. IF you dont have at least one, you will die many many times. No question. Pick up at least one of the skills.
EQUIPMENT
This cannot be stressed enough, cause anyone that gripes about getting PKed probably didnt come well equipped. This is a list of equipment I carry on all my characters, Blues/reds alike.
Plenty of Regs - No regs = dead
Plenty of Potions - By this I am talking G Heal, G Cure, T Refresh, G Explosion. AT LEAST 10 of each.
Orange Pettals for combating poisoning, but always carry cure potions as a back up incase your pettals wear off.
Trapped Pouches - Paraganks suck. These will give you the best chance at escaping. Run outta pouches? Use your Exp potions. You take damage, but a G heal potion and a mini-heal spell will get ya back to normal.
MAGIC JEWLERY I cant stress this enough. Too many people dont use this stuff. Items of blessing, Invis items, even Magic reflect items. These can definatly be a life saver, not only in PvP, but as well PvM.
Bag of Sending - Worried about loosing your loot? Thats fine... just when you get it, send it back with your bag of sending. Make sure your bank box isnt close to full though first.
Warriors*
At least TWO weapons - A dull weapon will do nothing against a PK. Perhaps carry a spare PvP weapon... DP hurts
Plenty of bandaids - no aids = dead
Extra Potions - Your bandaids are slow. if you dont have magery, you need to carry Extra Potions.
Extra Sheild If you use them, carry an extra. You always want to be at top Deffence, as well as Offence.

5) Ok, are we prepared to go YET?
Not quite... Champ spawns are in Felluca... PvP is in Felluca... Perhaps you should learn some basics about PvP before you go in? Not mandatory, but always a good thing to do to be prepared. If you know anyone thats a decent PvPer, perhaps you could get them to show you and your guild a bit... not necessarily on how to be a GOOD PvPer, but at least how to defend yourselves and stay alive. Dont know any GOOD PvPers? Find out who is one of the best PvP guilds on the shard, and offer to pay them to show you how to PvP (Of course, in YOUR tower, in Trammel, so they dont kill you ). They are guilded... let them fight each other a bit... showing you key points of their battles so you can learn a bit.

6) Ok, I came in prepared and even survived a PK raid! wOOt! I now have this bright shiney +20 scroll in my pack... How do I get out with it?

Theifs and PKs are abound. Such as my champ spawn theif... Positive fame and karma... you would never know I was a theif until you couldnt find your scroll. Key points at avoiding theifs?
1) Right before the champ spawns HIDE AT LEAST ONCE . People are most willing victims at the Teth keep spawn... everyone crowded on the ledge together, very easy for a theif to open up everyones pack and leave them open. Champ dies, they see scroll, they steal. You hiding will close your pack. If not hiding, get away from any highly populated areas right before the champ spawns.
2) I do NOT advocate theif proof boxes, but until they are removed from the game, they work. Ask about them.
3) No theif proof box? Layer your stuff. Put a deathrobe or two on top of your scroll... that will deter the would-be theif.

Player Killers (PKs)
Player Killers are oportunists.. Of couse they are going to congregate in the place where they think the most targets will be after the spawn = IE the STAR ROOM. Do what you can to avoid the star room. There are at LEAST two other ways out of any spawn. The entrance to the dungeon, or a teleporter to another dungeon. Learn these methods of escape.

7) The other thing to worry about in Champ Spawns are NOTO-PKs . Noto-PKs are those that will do what ever it takes to turn you gray, and will kill you when gray. Weather they like to admit it or not, most champ spawn people are noto-pks (ever seen a grey getting ganked at champ spawns? Its hillarious). If your fighting Barraccoon in despise, be aware of his special ability = Turning you into a Rat... Avoid this. You can polymorph into a character of the oposite sex to avoid this, or use Tribal Paint. Either way, dont go grey, you will die.
There is also currently an Exploit (I call it exploit because it hasnt been said otherwise by dev team) where people will go grey, get your EV/BS to attack them, and this will turn you gray. As I said, everyone is a noto-pk at champ spawns... they dont care that you were a victim of this exploit, so everyone will attack you. This is where your basic PvP knowledge comes in... Use your potions, use your magic jewlery, any thing it takes to escape. There is no shame in running away when faced with a gank.

8) Oh damn. You died at a champ spawn (either from spawn, PK, or noto-PK). Too bad. Oh well, at least you didnt loose anything but 20 minutes right? (Unless you were gray and got noto'd, in which case you lost 50%). Well, as I said above in #1, Its felluca. You are going to die eventually, no matter how well prepared you were. Now, its time to get Ressed. There is another breed of PKs out there called the RES KILLERS . These are not your typical PKs... they have no honor. They will stand outside the (usually Brit) Healers, possibly hidden, and usually with a packhorse. When you res, you will be redlined again. A character who is usually fresh out of the Inn from being newly created will be 50 magery 50 eval with a couple Lightning or EBolt Scrolls, and will cast and target you. When you die, the caster will die, but his freind will loot you dry and put everything into his packhorse where it is almost untouchable. The looter may or not be gray (depending on party interactions, etc). If he IS gray, you will NOT be able to call guards on him.
What can you do to avoid these people?
1) Dont res in a populated city . These would include Brit and Moonglow.
2) Dont res in FELLUCA They cant do this in Tram. Self explanitory
3) Find a Wandering Healer in the woods to res you
4) Get a freind to Res you
If for some reason you CANNOT follow any of the above rules, there are two other things you can do AS SOON AS YOU RES
5) Drink G-Heal potion This will usually prevent you from getting killed by Lightning bolt, assuming you have decent resist
6) Cast In Mani (first circle heal spell) right after you drink your G heal pot. This will allow you to survive the ebolt, assuming you ahve good resist.

Be advised, if you res in a populated area, you take the risk of dying to res killers, no matter what. Sometimes thier Ebolt can get through your G-heal pot and your in mani. You res there, you take your risks.

Welp, that just about covers it... But REMEMBER RULE # 1) YOUR IN FELLUCA, YOU ARE BOUND TO DIE. IT WILL HAPPEN SOONER OR LATER. No matter how prepared you are, no matter how much supplies, preperation, etc you do, You more than likely will die eventually. Be prepared for it, and deal with it.

Enjoy your powerscrolls....
