I'd recommend the early seasons of Farscape (available on DVD) and the terribly wonderfully killer-great Aeryn Sun.

And don't worry, Farscape's not a show you can jinx. ;) It got cancelled and its last episode aired last Friday. So the damage is already done.

...I will leave it to So Cal Susan to chime in about Sydney Bristow on Alias. ;)
