Subject: no light coming on

got a problem with my alpine stereo. its a CDM-7834. I only had 2 speakers hooked up to it and wanted to put on 2 more(for the rear). I unplugged the back after making sure that no power was still leading to it. looked at the back, and hooked up the speakers. when i tried turning the player on again (turning the ignition) it doesn't come on. as far as i know, it doesn't have any anti-theft precaution, and it WILL take in and eject cd's...just not play them. the fuse for the radio also is not burnt. i really don't want to let this thing go to waste over something simple that i may have overlooked, so can anyone help?
